My father Steven Frey has struggled his entire life with Crohn's disease and almost 5 years ago he was diagnosed with liver disease as well. Unfortunately, the cryptogenic cirrhosis is believed to be caused by all of the medications he has been on for most of his life to manage his Crohn's. To our dismay, this past December we found out that he was being put on the liver transplant list. His status was very low on the list and with a rare blood type and a secondary illness, we hoped someone could be a living donor for him. Luckily, my sister Marielle Frey is a match!!!! So in less than 2 months, Steven and Marielle will be admitted to Mt. Sinai hospital in NYC for the transplant surgery. They will be in the hospital for at least a week and Steven might be there a little longer. From there they will recover further at Mt. Sinai's transplant living center (also in NYC). Most of the expenses will be covered by insurance but unfortunately there are many expenses that are not. We are looking for any support that can be given to help reduce the stress that they will already have during this time.  Tons of well wishes, prayers and visitors are incredibly welcome as well! Any residual funds that are raised will be donated to the American Liver Foundation to help others in need.
