Our dear beloved brother Akiwumi Omoregie left us to be with the Lord on April 25th in Baltimore, Maryland. Brother Akin or Regie baba (as he was fondly known by his many friends) was fatally shot several times while working as a cab driver in the Jefferson area in Baltimore. According to the police , someone or several people approached his vehicle after he dropped off a client and shot him several times . Police responded and brother Akin was rushed to the hospital, unfortunately he did not make it. The case is ongoing.
Brother Akin was born in Akure, Nigeria where he attended Aquinas college and Ondo state Polytechnic and Ondo State University for Business Administration. He lived in Malaysia , South Africa and in 2002 he relocated to Minnesota, USA for a few years, before moving to Maryland in 2005.He is survived by his loving wife Barbara and children.
Brother Akin was a God fearing man, with a golden heart, willing to help anyone in need. Numerous stories are being shared of his generosity and kindness, all done with a smile. This horrific senseless violent crime has shocked and terrified everyone.
We urgently need your help to pay for funeral costs so we can give our beloved brother a deserving farewell. Also to support his grieving wife Barbara and the children. This will mean so much to the young family who are left alone, we trust God that His will be done and He may continue to give peace and comfort to them, Amen.
We may never understand why our brother Akin left us so soon at the young age of 44, his family left with more questions than answers, but we can come together as friends and well wishers to please help his family get back on their feet. Your help will be greatly appreciated and may our good Lord keep you and provide you more.
