On May 23, 2016 our loving and faithful mother, Cathy Davidson, was diagnosed with stage 4 inoperable lung cancer. After much prayer & discussion with doctors she has decided to continue working in order to maintain her health coverage. We have sinced learned two things: unfortunately, health insurance will not cover all costs & when Mom does not work she does not get paid. Understandably. These two things are heavy on the hearts of all of us.
We, Paul & Sara, Jena, Chad, & Stacey, have decided to raise money to support Mom's journey in hopes to allevite any burden on her. The money raised will cover the following patient costs (per month) for the next six months:
*Pre-diagnosis costs: $645 a month
*Initial treatment: $1,000 per chemo treatment (she needs 3 per month)
*Doctor copays & medications: $500 a month
*Oxygen tank: $40 a day x 30 days totals $1200 a month
*1 day of missed wages: $200 a day x 3 days totals $600 a month (assuming she won't work on chemo day)
We will begin fundraising immediately. Any donations received above and beyond our goal will be used towards the next six months. Our hearts are to be transparent, open, & honest about the money being spent each month. We will find a way to keep everyone updated on how the money is being used. I promise!
We know not everyone can partner with us financially and we completely understand. Will you consider partnering with us in prayer for a miracle that Mom would be fully healed and her body would be made whole again?
Many of you, if not all of you, have already started partnering with us whether you are praying, visiting Mom, rearranging our house to make her more comfortable, phoning her to encourage her or writing on our "Team Cathy" Facebook page. From the deepest part of our hearts we say...THANK YOU! May the Lord bless you and keep you! May He make His face to shine upon you!
We close with the following scripture from Acts 20:32.... “Now I am putting you in the care of God and the message about his grace. It is able to give you strength, and it will give you the blessings God has for all his holy people. When I was with you, I never wanted anyone’s money or fine clothes. You know I always worked to take care of my own needs and the needs of those who were with me. I showed you in all things that you should work as I did and help the weak. I taught you to remember the words Jesus said: ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.’ ”
