My name is Rolando Romero and I am the president of Sports and Recreation for The Blind. We are a non-profit organization in California and soon nation wide.
Sports and Recreation for the Blind helps the bind and visually impaired communities get involved in adaptive sports and recreational activities by providing the parents, participants, and the public with information on adaptive sports and recreational activities in California.
I unfortunately was diagnosed with cancer at a young age and was given the best treatment and care at the Children’s Hospital of Los Angeles. I understand that dealing with a debilitating disease at a young age is hard and especially harder on those who are tasked with making sure you are in good hands. That's why we decided to do the SRB Santa Project Toy Drive. I know when I was young and dealing with childhood cancer I never shied away from any form of positivity. When I was 4 years old I received a stuffed animal that helped boost my moral. I would like to give back and provide these children with some much needed positivity and comfort that everything is going to be all right while spreading some holiday cheer in the process. With the up-and-coming holiday season I know that these children are looking for some kind of normalcy in their young lives, so Myself and Sports and Recreation For The Blind are starting a holiday toy drive and the end result is us donating toys to the children of Children’s Hospital of Los Angeles.
Sports and Recreation for the Blind and I are teaming up for their first annual Santa Project Toy Drive. Our goal is to reach 250 gifts donated. The gift prices range from $5 to $20 thank you for considering to donate to the #SRBSantaproject to boost the moral of the patients’ at the children’s hospital of Los Angeles. Beginning November 1st 2020 to
December 15th 2020.
