This is Meagen. Meagen grew up on the rough side, put herself through college, stomps around in the dirt and spits fire. She's a person that will have your back and will (literally) jump in to support you, even when you may not want her to. Meagen is fiesty. This is why when she (28 years old) was diagnosed with Stage 1 Invasive Breast Cancer last month (April 2016) all of us who know and love her were numb with devastation. After a few weeks, MANY tests and the first of many surgeries, we know it is Triple Positive (ER-positive, PR-positive, excess HER2) Stage 1 Invasive (the cancer has come out of its home beginning to spread) Breast Cancer.
This is all very scary to read, but the first person to tell you to stop being a baby is her.
This GoFundMe page is to take the load off this hard working ladies back. She needs and deserves all the help she can get to make this struggle easier. She works so hard and loves so much, the last thing she needs to worry about is whether she can make it to the city (thats 4 hours away!) for her treatment. The money raised off this webpage will go to the following:
-Transportation: to get to and from the city where her treatment is located. She needs to make trips every 3 weeks and is a huge expense.
-Bill Pay Down the Line: Once she starts treatment (in 2 weeks) she will be limited to what and where she can be. Being forced to quit her job is one of the many changes she is facing. We all know what it feels like to have no INCOME coming IN and all going OUT.
-Groceries: All the good food that heals our bodies in general, she's going to need alot of that.
- Cold Caps: treatment for chemo patients, a -30 degree gel cap placed on their head in hopes to have their hair grow back as perfect as it was before. This is a $2000 dollar treatment that Meagen isn't even sure she wants, because vanity is the last thing on her mind. I know how much a simple thing like hair will mean to her when she is done with this hell. So we're going for it.
The money is appreciated sooner than later. This is all happening so fast its hard to tell which way is up. In a blink of an eye she will be getting treatments, not being able to work or prosper.
Meagen will be 100% focused on getting better and kicking cancers ass. SO lets do the dirty work for her! Every and any cent raised will be a blessing to her.
This will be a stepping stone in Meagen's journey.
