John's Unexpected Journey

On Thursday, October 22nd after a few weeks of suffering with the onset of sudden severe headaches, Jonathan suddenly collapsed in his home and went unconscious. Thankfully, his brother was home to inform Paramedics and he was rushed to Harborview Medical Center (hospital) were he immediately underwent surgery.
It was discovered that Jonathan suffered a ruptured Brain aneurysm, it’s believed there may have been bleeding already occurring when Jonathan began experiencing severe headaches. In surgery, they were able to successfully clip the aneurysm (stop bleeding), however, due to excessive swelling of the brain, they have temporarily removed part of his right skull and inserted a tube to drain excess fluids.
Since the surgery performed on October 22nd, Jonathan has been in a coma and the type of trauma he suffered to the brain is medically referred to as a Subarachnoid Hemorrhage. He has not yet ‘woken up’ but has demonstrated some indications of consciousness. He is responding to simple verbal commands (e.g. nodding yes or no, thumbs up, wiggling of toes), however, we are keeping a close eye on the left side of his body which is responding significantly less than his right side.
The prognosis is still undetermined, we have high hopes that Jonathan will wake up and we are praying that any damage to his brain and the resulting consequences from the trauma will be minimal.
We are maintaining as much positivity as we can and are grateful for Jonathan’s community who has already shown so much love and support. We created this space to keep family and friends updated on Jonathan’s Progress and as a way for anyone to share love and support for Jonathan that hopefully he will one day be able to read.
We have had many people also show interest in supporting Jonathan and his family (he has two beautiful kids) some financial relief, which is why we created this Go Fund Me Page.
Thank you all very much.
