Hi everyone, I’m starting a fundraiser to help Chris and Tammy Ruck survive financially through the storm they are going through.
On October 12, the family was enjoying a much needed getaway in the mountains, when Chris got a sudden sharp pain between his shoulder blades that radiated into the center of his chest and up into his jaw. He immediately got nauseous, diaphoretic, and cyanotic. He was having an aortic dissection. They called an ambulance to their cabin and they took him to a small local hospital. That hospital wanted to life flight him to a larger hospital in Knoxville, TN, but weather did not allow for life flight. He was loaded in a second ambulance and taken to a hospital in Knoxville. He was then in open heart surgery for 8 hours. He stayed in the hospital until October 21.
On October 26th, he had to go back to the ER. They got him transferred to Centennial hospital (admitted to cardiac unit) from Sumner Regional Medical Center. He is currently being treated for AFIB, fluid overload, congestive heart failure and pneumonia.
They will need help once the 4 hospitals and 3 ambulance bills start coming in from the last 3 weeks. They are worried about how to pay for groceries and Christmas for kids and pay those bills too. Help would be appreciated for sure. Their middle son was admitted to Vanderbilt and then a hospital in Georgia a couple months ago with a ambulance bill to go with that one too. They are just now starting to get those bills coming in. Two of their three kids are special needs and have regular therapy and medical bills to go with that. Chris had been at home homeschooling their special needs kids for last several years when all this happened. Tammy is providing for their family as a nurse, caring for others. Let’s help this family out!!
