Lighthouse for Broken Wings- A Sheltering Heart

“A Sheltering Heart” is a fundraiser to cover housing expenses for those who otherwise would be without a roof over their head and a warm bed to sleep in.
Sheltering is expensive and a lifesaver for families, children, the elderly, and individuals in the winter.

Our story began at the America Inn and Suites in Rehoboth, Delaware. We are a family of five just trying to keep a roof over our heads. We have both always worked, but luck never just seemed to be on our side. We finally call the lady we now know as Ms. Tony; little did we know that this was where our life would change. We had a meeting with her, and she agreed to let us join her program. We didn't know what the program entailed, but we knew it would help us save some more money and move closer to our goal to have our place. Ms.Tony and her program helped with food and paid our shelter expenses. All we needed to do for her was save money, help serve food to others, follow the rules, and attend weekly meetings to stay up to date with the regulations. Ms. Tony had a plan, and little did we know what surprises she had for us. About a week before the shelter program ended, Ms. Tony came to us with a proposal. She found us a house! We were so excited that our daughter cried, and the best was yet to come. Not only did she find us a home, but all the children would have their room, which they have never had before. Only a week before we moved in, she let us see the house, and "WOW," we were so excited. Not only did she find us a home, but it was right where we always wanted to be. I like to call it my dream house. With all this excitement over now, we had to figure out money-wise was this a real possibility. Ms. Tony was there to save the day again, and she helped with the down payment and security deposit. All I can say is that God is great and that there are still angels on this earth. Ms. Tony is the angel who continues to give and help us whenever asked and even without asking.
