On October 23rd, days after his birthday, my brother David Villalobos was shot by a border patrol officer whos name isn’t being released at this time. Rest easy brother. You didn’t deserve to leave the way you did. What they did to you should never happen to anyones child brother, nephew, father, friend, trainee and cousin. You deserved only the best and more. All of this could have been avoided if authorities would have used non lethal force after my brother had crossed an imaginary line that men had put up, in order to try and get back to the home my brother knew best and felt safest. Put race, religion, politics aside. This man era mi hermanito mayor. He had relationships, people that followed him along his journey to pursue his dream of being a boxer. Watched him grow up from birth to the day you had to leave us. Brother. I know you’re at peace. We will reunite with you again. One day. I’ll live the rest of my life making you proud. When I go for long runs I’ll remember the days you trained to pursue your dreams. And I’ll use that as fuel to keep me going. Te amo hermanito. My big brother had a huge heart, and was one of the funniest people I have ever known. His jokes would always leave me breathless. 80% of who I am is him. He introduced me to video games, nintendo. He loved nintendo, and despite my age I will always love nintendo because of it. The last text message I got from him was him asking to play smash bros with me and my sister. My brother also loved working out. He wanted to be a boxer one day. Sadly, his mental illness wouldn’t let him advance in his life, it constantly held him back. David, big brother. Please rest in peace. We love you. We miss you. My heart is in so much pain but I know you’ll heal it. I know you are always with us. God please take care of him. The man who murdered my brother isn’t helping with or covering my brothers funeral expenses, we, the villalobos valdovinos family need help in giving my brother a beautiful send off. Thank you to each and every one of you who takes a moment to aid my brother with your kind donations.
