This is a fundraiser I am putting together on behalf of my 29-year-old sister, Chelsy. My sister recently was in the hospital for 2 weeks where it took the doctors a week to discover why she was suffering a massive fever and in so much pain. They discovered her ulcerative colitis was severely inflammed, an absess had grown and was putting pressure on her spinal cord, resulting in her having surgery, a blood transfusion, and multiple tests. Her husband works out of town for weeks at a time, leaving her home with their 5-year-old son who has anxiety, and their 2-year-old daughter who has MCAD deficiency, who both need a lot of care. Our mother who lives nearby has various health issues so her ability to help is very limited, and me and other family members live far away; therefore, her husband is going to have to come home from work to care for her for at least 6 weeks since she cannot do anything until she heals and stabilizes. There are a lot other health things going on and it will be a while before further testing can be done because they need to take things one step at a time, and with things so badly inflammed, they are needing things to calm down before going back in for surgery. In the meantime this family is struggling financially; needing support both at home and with their children, and as a result they are facing financial stress from her husband having to leave work and her not able to continue working. This money will immediately help cover their work loss, pay for additional home services and child care, as well as additional medical expenses. This would be a huge encouragement to this young family who is struggling and needing support at such a stressful and uncertain time. To receive any financial support would be an answer to their prayers and will relieve some pressure and stress, which will benefit the entire family. We would greatly appreciate any and all your help in bringing some relief to this family. This is new to us to be open and honest, as asking for help is something that we don't normally do as a family, so this is why I am doing it on behalf of her and her family. Thank you in advance in partnering with me!
