Ryan and I go to college together. We first met at Band camp at the University of New Haven. He was my first ever trans friend. Before I met him, I had only met one trans person. Thankfully, I did meet him. He has taught me so many things. When I came to college and started band camp, I was anxious all the time because it was all new to me. I had never marched like that before and I had never played the cymbals more than a few times. But Ryan made me feel welcomed and not alone. Throughout our band season, I learned how amazing he is. How strong he is. I grew to love him like family. Recently he got news that his insurance won’t be covering a big portion of his top surgery and because I know how much that upset him, I made this go fund me for him. He deserves this surgery and needs it as much as any other trans guy. So I’m hoping to raise enough money so he can afford the surgery. He’s an angel and no angel deserves the life he has lived so far.
