Hi, My name is Kathleen and I am trying to raise funds for my niece, Lara Shi. 

At the age of one, Lara was diagnosed with Microcephaly, a neurodevelopmental disorder that adversely affects the growth of her body and brain.  The doctors informed us that she would not live past the age of two and would not be able to walk, talk or move.  As time went on, through physical, occupational and speech therapy, Lara was able to surpass these obstacles and began to walk and speak via sign language at the age of 5.  She is our living miracle!


Lara continues to defy the odds and today she is a vibrant, outgoing, sassy 8 year old who loves music, dancing and her Kristoff and Alex the monkey.


Lara needs to undergo a very high risk scoliosis surgery due to two very large curves at her spine, a thoracic curve and a left lumbar curve.  


The surgery MUST be perfomed at a very high level center by an expert on spinal deformity in order to minimize health risks that can compromise both her quality of life and potentially her life.

We are in dire need to gather the funds for this vital surgery as doctor's have expressed the urgency of moving forward with the procedure as soon as possible.
