Andrew Miller

Hi, my name is Trudy Miller. I am creating this go fund me on behalf of our son, Andrew. Back on November 1st, 2024, while playing in a soccer tournament, he jumped up to block a ball and landed wrong, resulting in a torn PCL in his right knee. As a result of this, and his inability to navigate the campus, he returned home to complete his semester via the internet. He was fortunate to see a surgeon the day following the incident and was placed in a special brace which the surgeon hoped would allow his knee to heal. However, after almost 2 months, a reinjury, and a number of trips back to the surgeon, things had not improved. An MRI revealed more injury to the knee than was first thought. The surgeon believed he needed surgery, but was leaving the country, so he referred Andrew to another surgeon, closer to home, in anticipation of him receiving surgery sooner rather than later. However it took about 6 more weeks before Andrew got to see the new surgeon, who wasn't convinced the surgery was needed but said, even if he wanted to, it could not be done at this time since Andrew now had a frozen knee and would require physio first. He also told him to get a different knee brace. Andrew's insurance covered the cost of a few physio appointments, but has been used up. The surgeon saw him again in spring and agreed to put him on the surgery list. This surgery is coming up soon and Andrew has been told he needs a different brace and a chiro cuff which are quite costly. He will also need extensive physio over the next year and does not have the income to support this need. He will be very appreciative of any funds raised.
