Help Holly Rebuild After Hurricane Helene
Donation protected
My name is Ava, and my sister Holly lost her house to three giant trees in the recent hurricane Helene. Holly and her two kids, Emma and Noah, have lost almost everything they own due to the destroyed roof and the rain. They have lived in a hotel for the past two months, and their dogs and cats have been staying in a boarding facility. The insurance company has been a nightmare and is delaying releasing funds to Holly for basic survival. She has finally found a house to rent while her house is being demolished and rebuilt. Still, the struggle is real for everyday expenses like food and replenishing their clothing. Holly is a fantastic artist and has been making clothes for her and Emma for years. The storm destroyed almost all of their clothes and items. Very little was recovered. I can't imagine the stress of ensuring Emma gets her schooling done and doesn't lose hope, as well as Holly working towards her master's degree in education at Converse University. Add the stress of being separated from your animals for months, which seems even more overwhelming.
I live in California and feel helpless trying to help her right now. With Holly residing in South Carolina and her family living in faraway states, most of us feel helpless except for emotional support. She needs food, clothes, and supplies to start her life in a new house. A few years ago, Holly beat pancreatic cancer and managed to rebuild after that. She was so brave in surviving and being positive for herself and her kids through the trauma of cancer and a Whipple procedure. I want to find support to help her now on a broader scale.
It would mean everything if people could help my sister out. She hates asking for help and was reluctant to let me create a GoFundMe for her, but she needs help, and it would lift her spirits to know people cared about her, her kids, and her fur babies.
