Everyone who knows Rachel knows that she is the sweetest, funniest, most supportive person. She goes out of her way every day to make other people smile. What many of you probably don’t know is that Rachel is fighting a very stressful, scary battle. She was diagnosed some months back with thyroid cancer. She first had surgery to remove two tumors. She then had aggressive radiation treatments to stop the spread. Unfortunately, the radiation didn’t work. She is now waiting to be scheduled for another surgery to remove a tumor that grew back, and spread to her lymph nodes. On Oct 27th they will schedule this next surgery. The medical bills, even with insurance, are still outrageous. They are still climbing and will continue to climb until she beats this cancer. She won’t ask anyone for help. That’s not who she is, we all know that. But I am asking for her. She said this to me :”I am really happy to have so many great people in my life. Thinking about it all makes me so emotional and I try to tuck that part away and just be thankful for what I have and how much love I have from everyone.” That’s how she feels and while to her that is enough, just people’s love and prayers, I hope we can do more for her. She is a mother first and foremost to two amazing daughters and a son who is truly inspirational himself - she is a grandmother to a beautiful baby girl. The love she shows everyone in her life blows me away! Let’s help out our girl so that her focus can be on her health & her family, not on the stress of paying medical bills.
