My dear sister Colleen is battling Pancreatic Cancer which has metastasized to her lung.  She was diagnosed in 2013 and has had the majority of her pancreas removed, has undergone chemo and radiation in the traditional medical way.  There is little hope of a cure from this treatment and doesn’t offer much time and also causes her much pain and discomfort.  My sister has worked for over  40 years as a registered nurse until this hideous disease disabled her.   Please help me keep her in my life! She has a great sense of humor and faith in God which is what this world needs!!! Diane
PS Bucket list: She only wants to meet her 3 favorite celebs:  Catherine Zeta Jones, Queen Latifah, and Ellen Degeneres.  How this would happen we have NO idea, but she can only hope!

Colleen:
I was blessed to be born in to a funny, gallows humor family.  I believe my twisted sense of humor and positive attitude have helped me kick cancer’s ass for the past 3 years!  Along with my faith in God, this helps me continue to battle to live with Stage 4 Pancreatic Cancer.  My current treatment is two chemo meds which can slow the growth of the cancer but with a poor prognosis. 

I would very much like to explore different treatments and unfortunately my insurance does not cover any out of state treatment and many alternative treatments are costly.   My goal is to travel to the Cancer Treatment Center of America in Philadelphia for an initial evaluation and assessment.  The cost for this is $10,000-$14, 000.   Once a treatment plan is established the cost can be upward of $200,000! They offer Genomic Testing, immunotherapy, targeted treatments, and naturopathic treatment which is much more effective than the standard protocol.   

Meanwhile, I will keep a positive attitude and continue to laugh with my equally twisted sister, my best friend Mikey, and my many foolish and awesome friends.  They are always there for me and I love them all so much!!!

By the way ……bald is not  always beautiful—it is just funny!  I am NOT ready to pick up my shovel and start digging, AND I still buy green bananas!   I hope cancer gets cancer and dies!!!!
