I'm starting this GoFundMe for my dear friend Ryan, his wife Lori and two sons, Karsten and Kade.
Ryan was diagnosed with a brain tumor a few years ago, and despite every effort to cure him, the cancer has spread, and he now has very little time left with us.
Many have asked what they can do to help Lori and the boys through this impossibly difficult time. In response, we decided to set this up to help the family cover the cost of Ryan's passing and give them a solid foundation going forward.
I've known Ryan for just over half my life. We became fast friends in the summer of 1998 on our way to Oklahoma State, where we were roommates and pledge brothers. Ryan and I have worked together and served as groomsmen in each other's weddings. We stayed close over the years despite me leaving Oklahoma.
Ryan is one of the best people I've ever met. He is kind, caring, generous, thoughtful and loyal - the type of person that would do anything to help a friend in need.
I will miss him deeply.
This is one of my favorite pictures of Ryan and me. The picture was taken in early 2000 at our fraternity formal with the other members of our pledge class - a great group of friends who are still close with Ryan and Lori today.

Thank you all so much for your generosity with Lori and the boys. Ryan and Lori surround themselves with great people - that has never been more evident than today.
