Hello Everyone!
Thank you for taking the time to read this. As many of you know, one of my coworkers has recently been diagnosed with Stage Three Breast Cancer. She has been a trooper through this process, and I am pleased to say that she is starting Chemo as of today!
Ms. Ann Sturk is a wonderful mother, grandmother, coworker and friend. She lives and works with the US Army stationed in Vicenza Italy, and is an instrumental part of our Medical Laboratory's everyday function.
Being so far away from family and an established support system can be very challenging, as I'm sure all of my military friends can attest to. But here in Vicenza, and at the Health Center especially we are a family.
I am asking for you to help in any way you can for those random expenses that come up in the fight for cancer. She will be taking a very aggressive treatment, so we are hoping for enough funds to help hire a cleaning person to come by the house to help her and her husband.
Ann's beautiful daughter is currently living in the states and it would be wonderful if we could raise enough money to help cover a plane ticket so she can come and help her mom out.
Ann is currently looking into wigs to wear for once the Chemo starts. Several of us at the clinic are planning to shave our heads in solidarity, and if you walk around the Health Center today, you will notice many of us wearing pink for this amazing woman.
Cancer is a terrifying word, and being a world away from your family can make it even scarier. Please help us show this amazing woman how much we love and appreciate her.
Thank you for all your support, prayers, and good vibes that you can spare.
