Alayna Healing Heart

Thank you for taking the time to come to our go fund me and being a resource to heart families like ours. I know a lot of people have asked how they can help and this your opportunity to assist our family every donation makes a difference. We are the Simmons family. Markus, Shenoa, Shemar, Alyse, and our Heart Warrior Baby Alayna Mae. Alayna was born on October 14th 2019. She is our 3rd child to have a heart defect. The Twins Shemar and Alyse have heart defects of their own However they are considered quite more manageable than Alayna's Diagnoses of Hyper Plastic Left Heart Syndrome [HLHS]. Alayna is not defined by her diagnosis however she has had some challenges. While in her interstage period after her Norwood procedure with a Sano Shunt. Initially post Op she did have some respiratory challenges. Often times with pattern her oxygen levels would be to drop accompany a high respiratory rate. I always like to say some days we take steps forward some days we take steps backward but the important this is each day we continue to take steps. Alayna has had numerous hospital stays through her 1st year of life. Only home weeks at a time. Alyana even dropped the new year at Ann & Robert H. Lurie children's hospital. Later in 2020 While the world was dealing with COVID-19 Alayna contracted the flu which delayed her much-needed surgery because her heart began to work against her. Alayna has persevered and was able to receive her 2nd surgery. Although she has made some major milestones it still a long road ahead. She is due for either another or possibly a transplant if she is a good candidate. Still to be determined. There is no cure for HLHS we pray Alayna lives an extraordinary life as hurdles over extraordinary obstacles. We ask that you please donate from your Hearts to ours.
