Mila’s Life Saving Medical Bills

Hi, my name is Madison and my partner is Connor. Our sweet 7 year old girl Mila has been going through medical concerns for the past 4 months following a routine dental surgery. Being in and out of the hospital for not being able to clot her own blood and nearly bleeding out post dental surgery, and then again for nearly dying because of lack of oxygen able to process through her body, Mila fought through both of these life threatening incidences and survived when the odds were against her. She was able to get through this because of her undeniable will to live.

We have spent an unimaginable amount of money to keep our girl alive and further investigate why this happened to her by having her visit a cardiologist to scan her heart and internal medicine to CT scan her Chest. It was found that Mila has a large blood clot in her Pulmonary Artery which is causing Pulmonary Hypertension on the right side of her heart. In simpler terms, this means that it is increasing her blood pressure and blocking her airways making it difficult for her to breathe. We have unfortunately expressed all our financial options and we now want to ask for help from the animal lovers around us. We could never get anything covered through pet insurance because Mila came to Canada from Turks and Caicos with a condition called Heartworm. It is possible that her recent medical setbacks are as a result of Heartworm and a few other conditions she came with. Sadly, pet insurance doesn’t cover pre-existing conditions.

If you have ever had the chance to meet Mila you would know that she is such a kind, gentle soul who steals your heart the second you meet her. All the medical staff who have helped her through her difficult journey have always let us know how sweet she is, how much they love her and about the extra time they would spend with her because of how much Mila has touched their hearts. Myself and Connor love Mila so much and it would truly break our hearts if we lost her. So I would kindly ask for your immense generosity to make a donation no matter how small, a little will go a long way and will be so greatly appreciated.

This money would go towards Mila’s future medical appointments. Including, a repeat scan of her heart, a repeat chest CT scan, bloodwork re-checks and medications required. This would support her through her journey and get her to where her condition is properly controlled and managed to ensure her life can be prolonged. As many dogs, Mila deserves to live a long life, especially after experiencing the harsh realities of living on the streets for years.
