I decided that money shouldn't be my issue!
My name is Andrew and after attending college for a year I decided to take a break from college in order to reconnect with my passion for nature. My love for the outdoors began at an early age as I moved from state to state and various countries with my family, culminating in a fantaastic experience in Patagonia, Chile. I have resolved to take the road less traveled... well actually, a trail traveled by many, the Pacific Crest Trail(PCT). I am working this summer and for several months in 2015 right before going on the trail to earn money for my trip but I am hoping money will not be a deciding factor on whether or not the PCT is a possibilty. Here's where you can help!!
The PCT is a 2650 mile trail that starts at the California/Mexico border and goes all the way up through the United States passing through Oregon and finally ending at the Washington/Canada border. I plan on hiking the PCT Spring/Summer of 2015. After completing the PCT I plan on returning to college and finishing my degree with new invigorated motivation.Donations will primarily fund my sustinence on the trail as well as odds and ends such as gear, transportation to and from the trail, nights spent in towns.
I know it will be a privilege to take this time to reconnect with nature and in order to honor that, I plan to donate 5% of all donations up to $2650 and 25% of any amount above that to the Pacific Crest Trail Association. This association counts on volunteers and donations to maintain the trail.
I will be writing blogs as I hike for all of you to follow! I will update you all on this as it becomes closer to the start date in 2015!
