Eric's Wish
Donation protected
UPDATE/DISCLAIMER: This campaign is not endorsed by Make-A-Wish or Disney. Their policies at this time of COVID do not allow for any official sponsorship of an activity where the wish recipient my be put at greater risk of exposure (ie, large crowds). Eric's wish trip to Disneyworld is being made possible 100% by donors and is not an official Make-A-Wish or Disney sanctioned trip.***
I'm not sure exactly how to start this. My son Eric, is 12 years old. He has Cystic Fibrosis, NTM lung disease, liver dysfunction, and MANY other complications that have come with these diseases. He was slated to have his Make-A-Wish happen at the end of summer, but then coronavirus happened. Because of all the restrictions and shutdowns that have happened, Eric is no longer able to go to his 1st choice-- Disneyland. Choice 2 is Disneyworld, and last choice is Legoland. We live in Oregon, which means we would need to fly to his Wish destination. At this moment, Make-A-Wish still has a travel ban on granted wishes. This is understandable. These are risky times for immunocompromised people. But Eric's time is running short. He has recently changed his life goal of reaching 20 years old to just making it to his next birthday in February. He doesn't think he is going to make it....
As a parent, I want my children to have long, happy lives. For Eric, I work hard to give him joy in everyday things. But I cannot make his wish come true. It just isn't possible on my own. For now, I am putting this out there to help with all expenses for Eric's (literally) dying wish to have a week long vacation with his family at Disneyworld. I think that doing this at Christmas time would be extra special, and puts a tighter timeline on this fundraiser. If we don't hit the goal in time then we will go with the flow and make what can happen, happen.
Eric is an amazing kid, who has made several presentations at school about Cystic Fibrosis to help spread awareness. He has endured 4 years of intensive IV treatments (both at home and in the hospital), countless admissions, monthly clinic visits for multiple specialists, and hours of breathing treatments every day. He is known for cracking jokes, throwing shade, making puns, staring contests (spoiler: he will crush you!), Lego building, and always offering challenges on video games to his cousins, brothers, and even hospital staff. He also has an AMAZING singing voice. This kid deserves a big HOORAH while he is still on this Earth. Time is running out. Please donate and share the heck out of this.
Thank you!!!
