1 in 8 couples will struggle with infertility. Unfortunately my husband and I are among that statistic. From the time I was able to answer the question, "What would you like to be when you grow up?" Right after my wish to be a princess, I knew I wanted to be a mom. Tyler has always dreamed of being called "daddy". When we were married in 2013, we had a feeling it might take us a little longer to become parents because of my polycistic ovarian syndrome (PCOS), but we never dreamed that three years later, we would still be working toward our desire to be parents. We have tried various methods of oral medications with no success. In fact, I have had several negative side effects, such as a hemorrhagic cyst which required emergency surgery. We have recently found a wonderful fertility specialist who is optimistic that he can help us become a family of three. It is going to require more medications, frequent ultrasounds, and multiple trips to the clinic, which is an hour and a half from our home. The main drawback is that our insurance will not cover any of the treatments or appointments. We are willing to jump any hurdles necessary, but we are going to need some help. That's where our friends and family come in. We are trying to gain some financial help for these fertility treatments, which are unsurprisingly very costly. We hope the treatment period will be short, but that is still unknown. We know that God has blessed us in so many ways, and we have faith that he will continue to bless us on our path to parenthood.
