This is a really beautiful soul who needs your help. Chinasa Okonkwo, mother sister, friend to all. Always happy and smiling and has a way of making you feel like the only person in the room with her, she gives of herself and time completely when she is not fighting for her life. To know her is to love her! Now she needs our help, please help get the word out by sharing this page and donate if you can.
We are Nicole and Amanda and we are asking for your help. This fundraiser is for our dear sister and friend Chinasa. Chinasa has been battling with Sickle Cell Anemia all her life. She has defied all odds to live to this ripe age of late 30’s, a mother to a most amazing boy. Chinasa has had to go through many Sickle Cell “Crisis” through her life and is currently having to undergo Dialysis since her kidneys are shutting down. She is in constant pain, feet, hands and body all swollen because her body is not filtering out its toxins.
This is the reason for our appeal. To help raise funds so she can afford to go for regular Dialysis and eventually a Kidney Transplant.
Chinasa has been unable to work for over 6 months, and has no income since becoming ill. Unfortunately, all the bills that go along with supporting her and her ongoing medical care have been covered by her older sister Adaku whom we all know and love and some well-wishers. There is still an astronomical amount of money owed and more importantly money needed to make sure Chinasa gets regular Dialysis to save her life.
You see, living in a third world country with no access to good healthcare or working policies like Health Insurance that allow access to doctors and procedures like dialysis is a luxury she does not have. We are trying to raise money to get her to the point where she has uninterrupted dialysis for as many weeks or months as possible toat least stabilize her to getting a Kidney transplant.
Chinasa and her family desperately need our help. Her adorable son needs his mommy. Chinasa and her family have always been there for us and many other. We are asking you to please be as generous as you can to help Chinasa in her time of need.
It would mean ever so much to Chinasa and her family if we could help them with this burden.
