26.2 miles for fantastic charities
Lily is a school friend of Max, my youngest son. On 1st December 2020, Lily, after a lump appeared on her leg in the September was diagnosed with an undifferentiated soft tissue tumour. She had no other symptoms and the type of tumour is still unknown.
Since being diagnosed I have been in awe of how Lily and her family have coped with everything that has been thrown at them - numerous rounds of chemo, endless stays in hospital and being forced apart as a family due to Covid. Lily's positivity, energy and unwavering smile is truly inspiring.
After she received her diagnosis Lily was adamant that she wanted to fundraise and increase awareness of childhood cancer. On 12th September this year I am running the Brighton Marathon and I would like to contribute to Lily's fundraising efforts by asking if anyone wishes to sponsor me to please do so.
All of the money Lily raises helps support both the wards that have been looking after her and three amazing charities:
Piam Brown Ward at Southampton General Hospital https://www.uhs.nhs.uk/OurServices/Childhealth/ChildrenscancerandhaematologyPiamBrown/ChildrenscancerandhaemotologyPiamBrown.aspx
Northbrook Ward at Royal Hampshire County Hospital https://www.hampshirehospitals.nhs.uk/our-services/az-departments-and-specialties/northbrook-children-and-young-peoples-unit

If you're able to donate, Lily's family would greatly appreciate it and if not please do share, we'd love to raise awareness as well as funds for some fantastic causes!
They have a blog to keep everyone updated on Lily's progress.
