Hi, my name is Ben Fallon and I am going to be running the Manchester marathon on the 19th of April 2026 to raise money for Asthma + Lung UK which is the UK’s leading lung health charity. They support people living with asthma, COPD, cystic fibrosis and many other lung conditions through expert advice, practical self-management tools, helplines and local support groups. They also fund innovative research to improve prevention, diagnosis and treatment, and campaign for better care, cleaner air and greater awareness so everyone can breathe easier.

This charity hits close to home with the majority of family having asthma in addition to my dad having severe COPD. It's a condition that has been a huge part of life growing up visiting the hospital many times, changing inhalers to suit my needs all why trying to compete in various sports. This is not only something that affects me personally, but something that impacts millions of people from mild symptoms to life-changing conditions. There are 12 million people in the UK with lung conditions alone highlighting the huge impact this has on so many families.

The funds raised will be donated to the Asthma and Lung UK charity where they can further develop vital research to help people with better diagnosis, treatments, symptom management and cures where applicable. Additionally, it will contribute to campaigns for improved care and greater awareness across the uk! Most importantly it will help support people with lung conditions through helplines and support groups.
