26.2 In Honor of the Blue
Donation protected
On March 16, 2016 Trooper Thomas Clardy, was conducting a traffic stop on the Massachusetts Turnpike when moments later tragedy struck. Trooper Clardy’s cruiser was hit by a motorist which took him from this beautiful life far too soon. Trooper Clardy, 44, left behind his wife Reisa and their six children ages 5-18. Trooper Clardy is remembered as a dedicated husband and father to his family as well as his work as State Trooper in the C Troop.
On April 17, 2017 I, Carrie Attaway, will be running the Boston Marathon in honor of the fallen Trooper Clardy and his family. I have been given an opportunity to raise money for a cause close to my heart and it was without hesitation that I wanted to run 26.2 miles for the Clardy Family. As a mother of four young children and a wife of a Police Officer being able to support Reisa and her children is a way for me to show gratitude for the ultimate sacrifice made by Trooper Clardy.
My goal is to raise $5,000 which will be used solely for the education of all six of the Clardy children. I have no doubt that I will reach this goal but know I will need the help of everyone reading this to help me get there.
During my training leading up to the marathon I have had good days of running as well as harder days. All of the struggles are no comparison to adjustment in life and the incredible loss the Clardy family has suffered that will last a lifetime.
I ask for your help reaching my goal. No donation is too small and every little bit helps the beautiful children Trooper Clardy suddenly and tragically left behind.
Thank you,
Carrie Attaway
