28 Year Old Needs A Kidney
Donation protected
About two years ago when getting tested to try and donate a kidney to his twin brother, who was diagnosed with stage four kidney disease, Alex too found out that he has the same disease. Although doctors were able to catch it early, this condition can only be managed. There is no real cure other than receiving a kidney transplant.
Doctors continue to monitor his blood levels every month . Along with suffering from kidney disease, Alex also suffers from high blood pressure, high cholesterol and anemia, As a result, he has to take a number of medications daily. Alex was also placed on the transplant list in September of 2019 at Rhode Island Hospital. However, the transplant list has a waiting period of about 3 to 5 years. He began his treatment plan of PD (Peritoneal Dialysis) in December 2019. Getting a living donor through a direct donation would be ideal for Alex. Unfortunately, kidney disease runs in his family. Due to this, there is an even greater challenge for him to find a compatible living donor.
Alex’s blood type is A+ which can be matched to a donor with blood types: A- A+ O- O+
If you or anyone you know would be interested in getting tested to become a donor for Alex please let us know. You can also contact : Rhode Island Hospital Kidney Donor Coordinator at [phone redacted].
We are also asking if you would be able to donate in order to help Alex financially. He will be out of work for an unknown period of time due to his daily dialysis treatments.
