Hi my name is Sarah and I am 22 years old. I am creating this fundraiser for my boyfriend Trent who is only 26 years old. We have been together for 5 years and moved in together at the beginning of 2022. On the 3rd night of us being together on our own, he had a seizure for the very first time; which is what started this whole journey. We found out on April 12th that he has a Glioma brain tumor and that is what has been causing these seizures. The placement of this tumor is in a unique spot of his brain, which raises concerns and risks. The doctors have referred us to two out of state clinics for his surgery to remove the tumor. So, we will be traveling to either Minnesota or California for this procedure.

Trent is an amazing man if I say so myself. He’s funny, adventurous, and so full of life. He’s been an apprentice, through the union, for the last 3 years and is almost done with his first year of school to become an electrical technician. He’s so motivated to complete his schooling and I admire him for it. He’s a family man and shows so much love for the people around him. He adores his 7 nieces and his nephew and would love to have children of his own one day.

This fundraiser is extremely important and personal to Trent, but also for me, because I know what this sweet, wonderful man is capable of and I do not want him to be deprived of life at such a young age. He deserves so much more.

I do work as a CNA at a long term care/rehabilitation center and work hands on with people who have dementia, Parkinson’s, MS, those who have suffered from strokes, etc. as well as patients who come in for rehab after they’ve had surgery or broken a bone. I feel like my career has been preparing me to be the best caregiver I can be to Trent. I am still actively working but I will be out of work for a month or two while I’m caring for Trent after his surgery. That being said, we will have no income for some time.

I will be using these funds for the traveling and living expenses after the procedure. These things will include Trent’s car payments, Trent’s insurance payments, our rent and really anything along those lines. MOST IMPORTANTLY, we will be using the money towards medical bills that will be left over from what his insurance won’t cover.

I have high hopes for him and want everything to be okay, but we cannot do this alone. I greatly appreciate anything that is donated and promise to solely use these funds for their intended purpose. Everything and anything helps.
