On 28th August at 1pm, our amazing 14-year-old daughter Lilah is taking on a huge challenge — she will run 1 mile, every hour on the hour, for 26 consecutive hours! ‍♀️❤️

That means her final mile will be at 2pm on 29th August.

But one of those miles will be particularly special.

At 1pm on 28th August, Lilah will run her first mile around the pitch at the Riverside Stadium. As many of you will know, Uncle David was a lifelong Boro fan, so running this mile in the place he loved means so much to us. ❤️

As a Boro fan and season ticket holder herself Lilah will enjoy parts of the game on Saturday 29th August, but will dedicate her day to ensuring she meets her goal in terms of running on the hour. Which means she will miss parts of the game to run around the vicinity of the ground.

We know Uncle David will be incredibly proud of her.

Lilah is taking on this huge challenge to raise money for Teesside Hospice, a charity that means an enormous amount to our family.

Sadly, Lilah’s Uncle David recently passed away from cancer and spent his final few weeks at Teesside Hospice. The care he received was truly incredible. The nurses were amazing. ❤️ They gave him comfort, dignity and kindness during an incredibly difficult time, while also enabling him to spend precious quality time with the people he loved most. This included enabling David to invite his family & friends to enjoy the World Cup games together with a big screen, takeaway food & drinks!

Our family will always be grateful for everything they did for him.

Now Lilah wants to give something back. ❤️

This is going to be a massive challenge for a 14-year-old, and there will undoubtedly be some very tough moments. But knowing that she is doing this in memory of Uncle David, and to support the amazing people who cared for him, will keep her going.
