Josh Needs a Ride

Hello. My name is Buddy Parker. I retired as a Chief Master Sergeant from the United States Air Force. I also retired from the Montgomery Public School System in Montgomery, Alabama. My wife Ellen and I live in Prattville, Alabama.
I started this gofundme campaign to help my young friend, Josh Shearon and his family, during a time of crisis. Josh is 38 years old and is a victim of cerebal palsey. He is 100% disabled and is confined to a wheel chair. Inspite of his handicaps, Josh is a blessing to everyone he comes in contact with. Witness his ever present smile and cheerful attitude one time and you will be blessed!
All monies raised by this campaign will be used to replace Josh's 23 year old. handicaped accessible. van which blew up several weeks ago. It has been determined that it will cost more to fix this van than it is worth. So JOSH NEEDS A RIDE!!! A good USED handicaped accessible van costs between $30,000 - $40,000 - well beyond the financial ability of Josh's parents who are raising three younger children. All money left after the van is purchased, will be placed in an account to help pay for insurance and any van maintenance expenses that may occur.
Since Josh's van has been out of commission for several weeks, to say that the money to purchase a van is needed NOW, is an under-statement. The family has no way to get Josh to church, the doctor or any where else he has to be taken. So the need is in fact NOW.
Josh misses being able to get around. I miss seeing Josh in church. (He often sits next to me, at the end of our pew, during worship services. I especially enjoy hearing him sing.) Knowing that his parents have a van to get Josh where he needs to be will relieve a lot of pressure from them and will make a lot of us smile.
We will be very thankful for any and all contributions. Not many people can write a check for the amount needed, but working together all contributions will add up and this need will be met. Josh, his family and anyone who knows him will be eternally grateful! PLEASE HELP JOSH GET HIS RIDE!!!!
