Instruments for Dunbar High School

Hi my name is Jeremy Day and I was just recently hired as the Head Music Director at my Alma Mater, Dunbar Vocational Career Academy!! The Dunbar Mighty Marching Music Machine has always had a rich legacy in the music community in Chicago, but for the last 3-4 years the program has taken a gigantic hit in terms of keeping the tradition alive. We went from having a mighty 80-100 piece band to having literally NO band at all in a matter of years.

Upon my arrival at Dunbar one thing that immediately stood out is the fact that where we once had a tremendous amount of instruments, now we are reduced to next to nothing. We are looking to raise money to get instruments so that the future students will be able to have the same opportunities that I was able to have when I was in High School.

It would mean everything to me to be able to provide my future students with the tools needed to succeed in the Instrumental Music field. I am trying to raise the money by August 2016 at the latest because I will begin instruction in September 2016. Please whatever you can give will still go a long way towards ensuring that our future leaders will remain off the street and have the tools neede to succeed.
