Hello Everyone! My beautiful friend Amy Marie Tamez was recently given the unexpected news of Breast Cancer. Amy got the call on Aug 4 that no person ever wants to receive. Stage 2A DCIS breast cancer is one that with the proper treatment will be cured. No one ever expects to be that person, nor do they budget for something of this magnitude. Months of chemotherapy, followed by months of radiation and surgery, recovery, then surgery again will mean so many things. This is where we can help, every step of the way. Her battle will be long, one that if you know Amy, she will fight, she will win and will help every person she can along the way. Will you join me and let’s all help her. Just the other day she calmed a stranger and walked them to their treatment, again this is Amy, always helping others. With careful consultation of medical professionals, friends and family Amy has chosen to have all treatment administered in Houston at MD Anderson. This decision did not come lightly and has already meant weekly travel and out of pocket costs that have all been unexpected. The next year and decreased work due to time off, will place a substantial financial burden to a single mother of her precious 3 year old Stella.
