Sylvia Garza's Rehabilitation Fund
Donation protected
A few weeks ago a devastating tragedy occurred within our family that broke our hearts. On May 10, 2016 my sister, Sylvia Garza , suffered a traumatic incident. She was intentionally burned by the boyfriend that she was living with, whom she thought was her true love. She suffered 3rd degree burns on over 75% of her body when he doused her with gasoline and lit her on fire in her own home. Hearing this was shocking, and saddening. We were unaware of the psychological, and physical abuse she faced day by day. The relationship had turned violent, and she never spoke about what was happening to her because she was fearful, intimidated, and threatened. In the past few months my sister's character had changed from a strong independent woman, to a woman who was under restraint and helpless. Unfortunately, it took a horrific incident to occur in order for her to speak up. She was a victim of domestic violence.
She is currently in the hospital fighting for her life everyday, and trying to stay strong for the ones who love her. Her main motivation continues to be her only child who needs her and brings her hope. As a family, and as her sister, I ask you to please donate to help her in the process of rehabilitation. She has a long journey far ahead of her and hardships that she will encounter, but with the help of good people she can make a full recovery. The funds will help assist in paying for her medical bills, surgeries, future rehabilitation treatments and any assisted care and legal assistance she may need. Anything will be appreciated no matter what the amount might be. We ask if you could please have her in your prayers during this difficult time of pain and suffering. We sincerely thank everyone ahead of time on behalf of our family and of my sister. Thank you.
