Dallas goes to the Dominican

Donation protected
As many of you know, we have struggled in many ways with Dallas over the past several years. This past year has proved to be the hardest year yet. From failing classes in school, to getting in trouble with the law to getting expelled from South Christian High School this past spring to causing much turmoil in our household. We have taken many steps to try and get him the help he needs on our own, all of which have proven to not be effective.
In recent weeks, we came across a Christian camp that we feel is a great opportunity for Dallas, and a way for him to realize his strengths and start to make some major life changes. The camp is called Caribbean Mountain Academy. It is located in the Dominican Republic. This camp will offer him the opportunity to work around the camp, work in orphanages and in the villages, do service work for a local school, and much more. The other key piece in all of this is the counseling that he will receive in a non-formal setting, and that same counselor will also work with us back at home via Skype, to help us prepare for his return home. It is our prayer that this camp will help Dallas to truly understand the love we have for him, and that our greatest prayer for him is to find his Savior.
After much prayer, we really feel this is where God is leading Dallas. Many pieces to this opportunity have already fallen into place. We are taking a huge step of faith to make this happen, but we trust that God will provide. This camp experience is not something that we can afford on our own. It is our prayer that our family and friends will also see how great of an opportunity this is, and help us by supporting us financially and in prayer. The cost of the camp itself is $6,000. On top of that, we need to purchase 3 airline tickets, as we need to accompany Dallas to the camp. Currently, flights are running around $800 each. Dallas needs to arrive at camp on Friday, June 17 and will stay until Sunday, August 14. We, his parents, will stay at the camp from the 17th to the 19th, at which point we may take advantage of being in a beautiful country and take a few days to recharge and prepare for coming home to care for the rest of our family.

Please prayerfully consider how you would like to support us. We love all of you and are thankful everyday for those that have supported us, prayed for us, and helped in one way or another with Dallas. We certainly could not have made it through this difficult time without you.

Blessings!
