Poops I did it Again in NYC Fringe!
Donation protected
Hello, all! As many of you know, I wrote and produced my own one-woman show, Poops, I Did It Again: True Tales of an Angry Colon, for Kansas City Fringe last year, as well as being the opening night for the Solofest at the Whitefire Theatre in Los Angeles. It chronicles my struggles with Ulcerative Colitis, shedding light on the disease itself as well as sharing several personal, embarrassing, but hopefully funny and uplifting tales straight from my angry colon.
I am happy to announce that I was accepted into the New York City International Fringe Festival that takes place August 12-28, 2016. This is a really big deal, as only one in four shows get in and I'm taking this opportunity to get Poops out there for a larger audience, possibly gaining some great exposure for not only my show, but for promoting awareness about Ulcerative Colitis.
I am lucky and honored to have the help and support of the talented Mr. Tony Beasley. He will be accompanying me to New York, running my lights and sound, managing me (in all aspects), and generally keeping me from losing my mind.
As many of you know, this is an expensive undertaking. We need all the help we can get! The funds raised here will go towards covering the hefty $700 entry fee I paid up front by borrowing money I'd like to pay back, plane tickets for Tony and myself, lodging once we are there, transportation, advertising (which is going to be like $2,000 itself), insurance for the show, food, and something to pay my box office and technical design staff.
I really want this experience to be used to it's fullest potential so that Poops has a good showing at the New York City International Fringe. This project means the world to me, as it helped me to get through the poopy realities of my disease and realize that I can rise above and do anything I put my mind to.
If you've ever had a dream, a cause, a passion, please consider donating to my campaign.
