My name is Lyana. I am raising money for victims of domestic violence and emotional abuse. Abuse isn’t just physical, it’s emotional, financial, sexual & psychological. An abuser isolates their victim(s) to ensure they are in control of everything in the relationship. Some abusers are so advanced in manipulation that the victim(s) don’t even know that they are being abused. In families, the abuser will groom their children to become exactly like them or will install so much fear in the children & the spouse to never leave them. This is why it is hard for many victims to escape. Safety is everything. Once a person sees that they are being abused, a plan MUST be executed to make sure that everyone in the family can leave safely. Safety is everything in these situations & if not well prepared, physical harm can come to the ones who are escaping. This subject hits so close to home because my children & myself are survivors of domestic violence abuse & narcissistic abuse. I was married to my abuser for 20 years & had left several times. Each time was so difficult because I didn’t have a place to go, even for a single night. I didn’t have gas money or money for to purchase food. I kept going back because he promised me he would change & would give me the money I needed to get our family necessities. I executed a plan to where we can escape effectively & be safe. I remember what it’s like to leave with nothing and having to go back because I didn’t have anywhere to go. So I decided to create this GoFund Me to help survivors get a hotel room for the night once they escape, get groceries & gas for their vehicle.
