Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting. My name is Aimee and I am one of Katie’s many close friends. Katie has been suffering from intermittent headaches and elevated blood pressure. She went into the ER on Monday October 5th, where they discovered a mass on her brain. Katie was then transported to Mayo Clinic in Rochester where they performed additional testing to help determine next steps. As part of this testing, she did receive some good news in that the doctors saw no indication that the cancer has spread. Katie will be undergoing brain surgery as soon as this coming Monday and is fortunate to be under the care of some of the best doctors in the world. Following surgery, she will work with her medical team to determine next steps and timing. For anyone that knows Katie, she continues to be her positive, optimistic self! She may be small in stature, but she is tough as nails and will continue to fight this with everything she has! Katie and her family are so grateful for the love and support that they continue to receive. In the many coming days and weeks to come, they will continue to need our love and support. We will update this website with the multiple ways you can help Katie and her family during this difficult time.   We will continue to update this website with additional information as quickly as we can.
