When a loved one passes away, we find ourselves clinging to hope. Hope that they are no longer in pain and suffering. Hope that they made it to heaven, or wherever their next journey may be. Hope that we will see them again soon. Hope that the memories will live on for long enough to get us through the next painful day. And hope that those memories inspire others the way that they inspired us when they were here on Earth. When I think of Marty, I think of hope. I think of hope because that is what he gave to so many of us. He gave his life to his family, his friends, and even to strangers, near and far, who needed a little bit of hope.
Beccah and I have been best friends since we were kids, and I truly consider myself to be a part of the Glisson family. They are people who help others in need, always, and people who give everything that they have and expect nothing in return just for the greater good. I believe these traits are because of Marty and his leadership by example. I also belive that it is our turn to give back, and to lend them our hand in such a time of need.
Because Marty touched so many lives all over the world, many of us, unfortunately, will not be able to make it to the service as it is a long way away from home for some. I am setting up this account for Amy, Josh and Beccah to help them with any expenses that they endure following Marty's passing. No donation is too small, and I know they will appreciate every ounce of love and support given to them. They have a long journey ahead filled with ups, downs and in betweens and they are so lucky to be surrounded with such great people who love them, and who loved Marty.
Thank you!
