Allison's Fight
Donation protected
Hi! My name is Allison and I’m currently fighting Stage Four Lyme Disease. I was bitten by a tick years ago and didn’t have a bullseye rash. My symptoms started six years ago and my health declined. My infection has advanced and I now have 8 additional co-infections. My tick bacteria has mutated and is resistant to the standard antibiotics. My major symptoms are ataxia, migraines, vertigo, chronic pain, severe lung pain, etc. I have tried oral antibiotics and saw no improvement. My symptoms worsen daily and I need help. The infection has spread to my central nervous system and is challenging to eliminate. It's painful to walk short distances and my fatigue is severe. My arms have become weaker and my grip strength has declined . These symptoms are challenging and affect my daily life. I have to take constant naps and I'm not able to participate in life fully. If I DO NOT GET TREATMENT, Lyme will end my life!!
I enjoy working as a librarian and helping each student feel represented in literature. I have been working since I was 15 and have always paid for my own needs. Due to the insurmountable costs, I'm unable to pay for treatment. This disease is progressive and my health declines daily. The only way to get treatment is through donations. I don't qualify for most Lyme Grants because I'm 32. I feel hopeless and I see myself deteriorate daily. I have so many goals and dreams, but it's hard to see those slip away.
I have found a new treatment center and it is a game changer. This new treatment center gets to the source of the infections and eliminates it. . Treatment consists of IV Medicines, Infusions, and PT. I would continue this intensive treatment for six weeks and then monthly maintenance. This treatment is life saving and has great results. Insurance refuses to cover the cost and the expense is all out of pocket!
Cost Breakdown:
*Initial Evaluation Appt: $1500
*Treatments: 5k each cycle
Before Lyme, I was active and loved dancing, hanging with friends and attending sporting events, etc. Now, my chronic pain is magnified and my joints are constantly swollen. My lungs are inflamed and it's painful to breathe. My vision has become blurry and the Lyme Infections can cause blindness. I want my life back and with your help I can eliminate my widespread and progressive infections. None of the treatment is covered by insurance, so it's all out of pocket. Time is of the essence!! Please help me continue sharing my love of books with others.
Every share and donation is so appreciated.
