Help a progressive student filmmaker

Hey everyone, for those of you who know me, you know I hate to ask for help. In fact, this is the first time I’ve ever done so publicly. But, right now, I really need it. My name is Lucas and I’m a junior in college. I also do a lot of volunteer work in political fundraising, and this cycle I’ve raised nearly six figures for candidates around the country. Although most of my fundraising has been through social media, this past summer I decided to switch it up. I see so much potential in film and the way it can be used to persuade through compelling storytelling. As the youngest of a single mom it wasn’t easy, but after years of putting money away from part-time jobs like bussing and life guarding I finally raised enough for a professional grade film camera a couple months ago. Since then, I’ve started to get pretty good at it — I’ve shot over a hundred advertisements, promos, and videos for progressives around the country. I didn’t charge anyone — l’ll help anyone who inspires me and who I believe will help make the world a better place. Unfortunately, last night tragedy struck. As I was setting up a shot for a new ad I’m working on, someone ran off with my camera and the majority of my gear. Like I said before, I don’t do this because I want to make money — I do this because I’m passionate about electing leaders to office across the country and I think film is one of the best avenues for me to accomplish that. So, with all of that being said, I’m asking for your help.
