Erik Austin’s medical and recovery

Erik and I have been friends since we were kids.  He is, by all definitions of the word, my brother.  We have been through many of life’s joys, pains, ups and downs.  By far, the one he is facing now is his greatest challenge yet.   At the age of 16 he was diagnosed with an auto immune disorder that started attacking his liver.  Over the past 30 years, the condition has worsened.  Today, August 24th, 2016 he is receiving a multiple organ transplant.  Once the operation is complete, Erik will have received a new liver, stomach, small and large intestine and pancreas.  Needless to say, the recovery will be long and demanding.  But, it will also be expensive.  One of his medications that must be taken for the remainder of his life has a cost of $5000.00 per month.  Adding on all the other medications, treatments and inability to work, will compound the financial strain on him and his family.  This is a strain that will be counterproductive to his recovery.

I am asking all who know him, love him, or can relate to his plight to help.  I am asking for positive energy, prayers, good thoughts, but most of all, I am asking to help with any financial assistance possible.  I have set up this GoFundMe page to help my brother Erik Austin.
