Let's help Ricky McMahon

Thank you for showing support for our family following Rick's massive stroke in August 2015. We are so lucky and fortunate to have such caring family and friends who have helped in a variety of ways over the past 9 months. But the fight it not over yet!
For those who don't know, on 27th August 2015, Ricky had a massive stroke. Unfortunately Rick has suffered significant injuries from the stroke, he is learning to eat and talk again and is permanently in a wheelchair. The coordination part of his brain has been significantly damaged, including his balance. A simple task such as putting a pen to paper, has now become a big challenge for him.
Ricky was rushed to the Alfred Hospital for emergency surgery the day of the stroke, where he then spent 3 weeks in ICU. He was then transferred to the Frankston Hospital where he continued to receive specialised treatment. After a lot of back and forth between the Alfred Hospital, Frankston Hospital, and Mornington rehab, Rick is now in Caulfield receiving rehabilitation where he has been since December 2015.
As a result of these significant injuries, Ricky will require a motorised wheelchair. House renovations will also need to happen including rails and ramps to allow Rick easier access and to move more freely around the home. As well as this, Rick will also attend rehabilitation sessions for the rest of his life. But the one thing that has not changed over the course of this massive journey has been Ricky’s determination and will power. His strength continues to amaze doctors, friends, family and everyone around him.
We are now asking for your help in raising some funding to go towards the purchase of the wheelchair for Ricky. These wheelchairs can cost as much as a small car! And if there is anything extra, the money will go towards house renovations, and the cost of rehab. Any donation big or small would be greatly appreciated to help give Rick the best quality of life possible.
We really appreciate all your help
