Valerie Worth could use your help

Hi my name is Don and I am the brother of Valerie Omelanski Worth. I am setting up this campaign in the hopes that I, with the help of all of you, can help out my sister, Most of you know that Valerie and her family lived in New Jersey and moved to Ohio December of 2005. For the most part, life in Ohio was uneventful.
In the late Fall of 2010, our mom was diagnosed with breast cancer. She underwent surgery and went into remission for almost 5 years. October 2015, mom's breast cancer came back and spread like wildfire...and took her from us 3 months later. She lived with Valerie. Every April, Valerie was faithful in her yearly mammography screening...especially given the fact that our mother just passed away from breast cancer. However, April 2015, Valerie was faced with breast cancer herself. On May 6, 2015, Valerie had a double mastectomy and underwent a total of 7 breast reconstructive surgeries through February 2016.
Everything was going well until she fell a couple of times and complained of hip pain. She was told that she had to have a hip replacement which was scheduled for April 15, 2016. Unfortunately, she was not able to have the surgery as she went into cardiac arrest...not once but twice. CPR was performed each time and brought her back to us. I thought..."Are we ever going to catch a break? I did not want to lose another close family member. " She had no choice but to have the hip surgery May 17, 2016. Of course everyone was terrified of her going through another surgery, however, she pulled through with her new hip. We all thanked God it was a success.
Now she had a long road ahead of her. She spent time in a rehab facility as she lives alone and has steps in her house. After 8 weeks, on July 13, 2016, she fell and fractured her femur right above the new hip replacement. Now Valerie had to have surgery on her right leg again. This recovery road was longer than the previous one. This time she spent 4 weeks in rehab and then finally came home. But this time she came home without her job. She was let go due to the amount of time she would be out. Valerie filed for unemployment and has been denied each week as she can't bear weight 100% on her leg, she can't drive so therefore she can't work. She is also in the process of filing for Social Security Disability...but was told it can take up to 6 months to receive an answer. So what does she do in the meantime I asked. She has applied for many services but her NJ Pension is $30 too much.
Labor day 2016, she was able to start to weight bear 50% on her leg. Her son took her out for a change of scenery. When they got back home, she went to step up into her house, using her walker, and her right leg gave out. Again, she fell and heard the bone crack. Bryan calls the squad who took her to the hospital. Yep...another break just below the hip replacement rod. Here we go again...back to square one and then some. She was only 2 weeks away from driving and full weight bearing on her leg.
She is back in rehab and her surgeon already told her it will be a very, very long road to recovery...she'll be lucky if it's before the beginning of 2017. I can only imagine how she feels knowing that it has been 4 months without pay and will be at least another 4 months before she can look for a job. As for unemployment, she is not eligible and who knows how long social security disability will take. In the meantime, she is upset, worried, depressed, stressed out and has panic attacks knowing that she has medical and living expenses to take care of. Being in this frame of mind is not helping her to focus on her rest and recovery.
I am telling you my story because I am at a loss of how I can help Valerie. We all know Valerie as a kind hearted, caring, giving and a loving person who helps out in ways she can. I appreciate you taking the time to read this and to help out with this campaign. It would be a huge load off her shoulders and this way she can just concentrate on HERSELF and getting better. Any donation you can spare will help her and would be truly appreciated.
Thank you for your help and understanding.
