Family Castro needs your help!
Currently, we are trying to raise funds for the funeral costs of Guillermo as well as trying to alleviate some of the stress from his family that they are under in these times.
Guillermo, the breadwinner of the family, began showing symptoms of Covid 19 in mid July. On July 19 he began telling his family that he felt sick, and a week later he and his wife Maria were headed to the hospital to get tested. Unfortunately, Guillermo began to develop shortness of breath to the point where his oxygen levels were dropping down to his 80s. He already had pre existing medical conditions such as diabetes and high cholesterol levels, yet was always working hard to provide for his family to the extent where he would work on weekends or overtime.
He was admitted to the Inland Valley Medical Center hospital on July 28th due to shortness of breath.
At first, he was well on his way to recovery but as time passed he was transferred to the ICU and had to be placed on a ventilator on August 18th. He spent two months on the ventilator fighting for his life and last week his body was having trouble oxygenating and when trying to ease off his sedation, doctors saw that his oxygen would lower. Doctors told his family that the virus had damaged 80 percent of his lungs to the point where they could not function properly, and that his brain had swelling because of constant fevers. He also underwent surgery for a tracheotomy.
Despite this, Guillermo was able to nod to his family as they spoke to him through the phone placed by nurses and briefly opened his eyes a few times.
On October 3rd, he passed away at 5:10 after his family had visited him inside his room.
Guillermo was the breadwinner of the family ,and was a very family oriented man and a great person. Funds will be used for rent ,bills, groceries, and funeral cost. Anything that is donated will help my aunt and cousins pull through this hard time they are in. We want to thank you for any donations made, please send prayers to the Castro family in this time of mourning.
