My name is Niccolò, I’m 28, and since 2021 I’ve been battling five severe neurological diseases: Myalgic Encephalomyelitis (ME/CFS), Small Fiber Neuropathy, Dysautonomia, POTS, and Long COVID.

In July 2024, after a COVID infection, my health collapsed. I became fully bedbound, and by June 2025 my condition got so severe that I have to live in isolation in a dark room, unable to tolerate light, sound, or any conversation.

I’ve lost almost everything, including the ability to talk, sit, and all simple joys of life. Each day is a huge struggle just to survive the constant symptoms and isolation.

Now, I’ve reached a fragile stability, but I remain severely disabled, fully bedridden, unable to speak, or share any meaningful time with loved ones. Worse, my condition is unstable, I could deteriorate further at any moment.

There is one hope left: IVIG (intravenous immunoglobulins), a treatment showing real promise in the US. But in Italy it isn’t approved, and privately it costs tens of thousands of euros per cycle.

 I don’t dream of miracles, only of simple things: talking a little bit, washing myself, hopefully sitting up, feeling the sun.
