Hi!! My name is Tyler Fiore Neenan. I am a USANKF Karate competitor. I have been doing karate for 8 years. I compete mostly in local tournaments (northern California) and have also competed at the Jr.Olympics twice in Las Vegas and in the 2014 National Championships in Reno. I won the Gold medal and became the 2014 National Champion for my division!
Last year I competed in the WKF (World Karate Federation) Fonseca Cup Tourment in Chicago. This is an international tournament that draws people from all over world! The competition was the hardest I have been in but was able to win the Bronze medal in my division! While there, I also participated in a seminar with Douglas Brose, current World Champion, who was joined by World Champions and Pan American medalists, John Fonseca and Elisa Au Fonseca. It was fun and I learned some valuble skills.
Karate is my passion. In the last couple of years I've had the opportunity to train with USA Karate team members and coaches. My goal is to one day be a member of the USA Karate Team and compete in the Pan American Games! I would also like to participate in the 2020 Olympic Games if Karate becomes an addtional sport in the Olympics!!
This year, in July, I have the opportunity to compete in Pittsburgh, PA at the 2016 National Championships and USA Team Trials. I will be competing, for the first time, in the Elite division USA Team Trials. This will be my first shot at trying out for Team USA! I am grateful to my coaches and Ramtown Karate for giving me the training, skills, and exposure that is allowing me to compete at this level!! I am aslo grateful to all support given to me in every way to help me reach my goals!
I've achieved over 75 medals and several trophies in my years of competition (I'm 15) and to get the chance to compete for a spot on the USA Karate Team would be incredible!! Even if I don't make the team this year I will continute my endeavor!! I can't thank you all enough for the donations I received last year allowing me to compete in the Fonseca Cup and giving me the chance to compete at this next level!!
I would be extremely grateful for any support! Just like last year, for every $100 I get I will donate $10, this year, to St. Judes Children's Research Hospital for kids with cancer and other life threatening diseases.
Thank you for taking the time to read my story! Please share it with your friends!
