God's Mission for Madison

Hello friends!
My name is Madison Wilkins. When I was 12 years old a group of came to my youth group to tell us about their experiences at this thing called YWAM (Why-Wham). I wasn't 100% sure what this thing was, but their testimonies were amazing and I found myself in tears the whole night, completely moved by the things they were saying. I thought "Wow, that would be cool to do." Just then I felt the call. At 12 years old I was called to attend YWAM and the calling has not gone away over the past six years. There are many details that I could go into about the different ways God has touched me, but we would both be here all night!
So, what is this YWAM thing? YWAM stands for Youth With A Mission. Youth With A Mission is an international volunteer movement of Christians from many backgrounds, cultures and Christian traditions, dedicated to serving Jesus throughout the world. Their mission is to know God and to make God known. There are many different locations to attend YWAM and a number of ways to serve with 1,800 locations in over 180 countries, and a staff of over 18,000.
I am extremely excited to announce that I will be attending YWAM Yosemite in California! I will be involved in what is called Discipleship
Training School (DTS). This school lasts for six months starting September 14, 2016. DTS has two phases, the first being a lecture phase that lasts for three months. Here I will learn more about God's character and nature and also how to live life intentionally from a number of speakers. After the lecture phase there is an outreach phase where my "team" and I will go on a cross-cultural trip to share the amazing news of Jesus Christ with people who have never heard His name. Here I will travel to a third-world country for three months, spreading as much of God's love that I can! Lives will be changed, including mine, and I cannot wait!
While this is all exciting news, and my heart beats intensely with anticipation as I type this, there are some expenses as I'm sure you can imagine! The lecture phase cost is about $3,000 and the outreach cost is about $2,000. The six month school, overall costs $6,000. In addition to this, there are also things that I need to purchase for the packing list as well as any spending money I need to have while I am there, adding about $700. I am working very hard to raise this money on my own time and in a number of ways, but I would deeply appreciate the help.
I look forward to deepening my relationship with God and helping others come to know Him and His perfect love. Since I was 12 years old, when I heard about YWAM, I knew it was for me...and now the time has come! I would appreciate any donations, small or large. Every penny counts.
