Three weeks ago Marc had a mass and under went orchiectomy surgery and the mass was sent to pathology. Last Saturday we received the phone call that changed our lives forever. Marc has Diffused Large B-Cell Lymphoma and in Marc's case it is aggressive. We met with a specialty oncologist Thursday at DHMC. For the next 18+ weeks Marc has to undergo a Brain MRI, Echocardiogram, Bone marrow biopsy, PET scan, additional surgeries, 18 weeks of Chemotherapy with some of the rounds of chemo requiring hospitalization for up to four days. It is going to be one heck of a battle, but Marc is determined to "kick some cancer ass"!! This Friday Marc has his first PET scan to find out if the cancer is anywhere else. The type of cancer Marc has typically starts elsewhere internally but we are hopeful. I will do my best to keep everyone updated. Marc will be out of work for a significant amount of time without pay and I am trying to ease some of the financial burden so he can concentrate on his treatment and recovery.
