Family and Friends, this is Ashlynn Keaninaneaokawailani Lee. She was born on December 14, 2006. Ashlynn has been diagnosed with a very rare, genetic, and life threatening condition called Carbomyl Phosphate Synthatase Deficiency One. Basically, her liver is deficient in enzymes thats unable to process anything she takes in. So, a liver transplant is what was needed to cure the disorder.
In 2007 at only 9 months old, she received a liver transplant at Lucille Packard Hospital at Stanford. She's been a healthy girl ever since.
She is now 9 years old and has been going thru rejection of the liver, (her body is rejecting her liver) she has been hospitalized twice for rejection, doctors have been increasing the medications she already on and also adding more medicines hoping to stop the rejection. Just when we thought everything was OK, she got diagnosed with "Auto Immune Hepatitis" which is when her immune system attacks the liver, and that's what's causing her yellow in the eyes, skin and stools. After doing 2 liver biopsy's doctors and liver pathologist has reviewed her screens and results show her liver is being severely damaged and could be the end of her liver.
Now the doctors plan is to get Ashlynn to Lucille Packard Hospital in San Fransisco to start her on 2 new medications (which has never been used in Hawaii) to see if it will help her liver get thru this. (Prolong her liver from failing)
Well there, doctors also decide if she'll need to be transplanted again.
All we can do is PRAY!!!#prayforAshlynn
